We left Lake Charles and headed to Bill and Kim's place near Houston. We had originally booked a park in Magnolia, a few miles away from their house. Acting on a prompting, Ken called the day before we were to arrive to confirm our reservation. They said they had no record of us having made a reservation, and to top it off, they were full. After several phone calls, we were able to secure a site at Lake Conroe, about 25 miles from Bill and Kim. We hung out with them all weekend. Bill is quite the cook. He grilled steak and potatoes on Friday night. On Saturday Matt and Nickki, Brandon, Erin and Violet, Mitchell, Emma, Kailey and Harper came over for a real Texas BBQ. We had brisket, chicken and sausage. Erin made a quinoa salad that was out of this world. Gotta find that recipe on Pinterest. It was fun to hang out and catch up. Matt and Nickki are getting married in November. Mitch and Emma's daughter was born 5 days after our little Hailey, and their new baby, Harper, is just two months old. I got my baby fix! We went back on Sunday after church for breakfast burritos. You don't go away hungry when you visit Bill. That boy loves to cook!
