More Nauvoo

were so many interesting sights to photograph.  I kept my camera with me at all times.  Here are  some shots of the Women's Garden at the Visitors Center

The carriage ride and the wagon ride were a great way to see the whole city with a narrative.  The horses were beautiful, and the teamsters did a great job handling them.

We were still in Nauvoo on June 27 so we took a ride to Carthage to visit the jail where Joseph and Hyrum were slain.  The program was beautiful and the tour was very eye opening.

We celebrated Ken's birthday with a beautiful dinner at the only hotel in Nauvoo.  Back at our camp site we had a bonfire and roasted marshmallows for S'mores.

The Nauvoo Temple sits up on a small hill and looks out over the Mississippi River.  The peace and beauty of these grounds are breathtaking.

Our time in Nauvoo came to a close and we were anxious to head Northeast to visit with family and friends.
